Myths on Fitness

Myth 1: Stretching is the best way to warm up. Truth: Stretching your muscles may help them become less capable to injury, but a light jog before you stretch also helps you warm up.

Myth 2: You have to work out daily in order for you to get great results. Truth: When you over train yourself, you put yourself at risk of injury. To reduce injuries and great results, it is better to exercise yourself three to four times a week.

Myth 3: As long as you exercise, you are able to burn extra calories Truth: Don't try to let this fact bum you out, but no matter how tough a workout you do, only a few hundred calories are burned, so don't try to over exert yourself.

Myth 4: It is easy to lose a lot of weight anytime you wish. Truth: It is not. If you plan to lose more than one pound of fat per week, you are just losing water weights which leads to health problems and a major hunger feast. Later, you would just gain back all the lost weight.

Myth 5: You build bulk from weight training Truth: When you weight train, you make yourself look tighter and toner by building muscles since muscle takes up less space in your body than fat. For better results, combine weights with fat-burning cardio workouts.
